Second Shooting with a Pro: Kimberly Salem

Like This! This past Sunday I was honored to have been invited by Kimberly Salem to second shoot a wedding with her.  It was actually the first time we had met in person!  We have been in contact through the power of Skype for our monthly Fast Track Photographer FEO NYC meetings.  I became involved in this wonderful group through my mentor, David Toth.  (I will save the specifics of this group for another time.)  Kimberly is a wedding/food photographer based out of the great city of New York City.  Check out her portfolio at:  http://www.kimberlysalem.com

Kim is a very talented photographer and absolutely spectacular to work with.  She was all smiles all day long which meant wedding photography is more than a job, it is her passion.  She even let me try out her pocket wizard/lighting set up.  I had never worked with them before so of course I plugged in the pocket wizard to my hot shoe flash and wondered why it just wasn’t working.  We had to laugh when we realized every time she took a picture it set off my flash as well!  I look forward to teaming up with Kim again in the future!

Here are a couple shots I snapped of her in her element.

The couple also hired a wedding photographer, Tony Seligson of Astera Video Productions.  I have worked with a few videographers in the past that lets say weren’t very cooperative.  Tony was very polite and always aware of where Kim and I were.  He was also a pleasure to talk with during our brief moments of downtime.  I would recommend Tony for anyone one of my clients who wishes to have their wedding day captured with video!  Check out Tony’s work at:  http://www.asteravideo.com

Here are a couple shots of Tony working on Sunday.
