Tie the Knot on a Tall Ship: Nicole & Christopher

FaceTweet it!

This years contest, Tie the Knot on a Tall Ship,  held by NJWedding.com took place on July 24th on the deck of the A.J. Meerwald docked in Beach Haven, on Long Beach Island, NJDavid Toth once again donated his wedding photography services to this awesome event and once again asked me to join in on the fun.  This year’s winners were Nicole & Christopher and they couldn’t have been more down to earth.  Dave and I are both so caught up in shooting we very rarely sit down to eat but this couple made sure we were taken care of.  To be honest this does not happen at most of the weddings I cover, nor is it ever expected.  The last thing on a couples mind should be worrying about who is fed but I applaud those that do.  These two were the most relaxed couple I have seen,  unusual since they had a rediculous time table of just a few weeks to plan their wedding.  I know they couldn’t have done it without the help of their good friend, Stephanie Eckweiler, a wedding coordinator for The Finishing Touch.  She did a spectacular job with every bit of the details.  It was so nice and refreshing to be provided with a wedding timeline to ensure that we were on schedule.  It was probably the hottest day of the year and thanks goes to the crew of the A.J. Meerwald for setting up a canopy cover to keep the couple and their guests a bit cooler.  This also was much appreciated by us photographers as it gave us much better lighting conditions as well as kept the squinty eyes to a minimum.

Thanks again Dave for allowing me to be Co-Pilot on this one! 😉

Best wishes to both Nicole and Christopher long and happy life together! 🙂

Here are some moments and details from that day:

Check out Erik Kent of NJWedding.com capturing some of the days moments himself!  Next time I’m just going to hand him my back-up camera!

This shot is completely credit of Dave.  It is a really cool shot to have in the repertoire when the environment may not lend itself to too many options.

I love ring shots so I had to put both my favorites in here.  All those years of setting up still lifes to paint are paying off!
