When I’m not being a Wedding Photographer…

FaceTweet it!

On Tuesday Graeme and I packed our equipment and headed out for another adventure in search of the best formal portrait spots in Pennsylvania and Delaware.  That days destination was Gibraltar (Marian Coffin Gardens) in downtown Wilmington, Delaware.  Our good friend, Liz, has been working at this garden for the summer to try and restore it to it’s original beauty.  It had been let go for a time and so the plant growth had become overrun.  It is a very immense space so to try and keep things under control is a massive feat.  There are many great spots in this garden to get lost in and little walkways that wind around to places to sit and reflect.  Graeme (strapped in the Beco Baby Carrier) and I scoured every inch of the place for great places to take shots.  And as always we put the camera on self timer and took a couple together.  He is always such a great sport about visiting these spaces.  Our favorite spot was in front of the reflecting pool.  It was filled with big bright orange gold fish so his attention was immediately fixated.  We may even have to add a new pet to the household.

Take a look at some of the photos I believe really give a sense of what makes this spot a gem for formal photography.

Thanks for reading!
